I don't want to run VSCode. It's just another Microsoft dependency you'll spend years healing from when they change it all on you again. But in the meanwhile, I just can't let such a mainstream groundswell power tool go unexplored. However, Windows VSCode is not for me because I despise backslashes and multiple Python environments. So can I run Linux VSCode respectably on Windows? Yes!
In this video I show you how I deal with twinkle-jealousy. That's when you watch someone do some sample coding on the Internet and everything they type seems to automatically fill in so they're not so much coding and hunt-and-pecking their way through objects and coding suggestions. This used to be entirely through Intellisense and other simple autocomplete.
However today it's being done through Github Copilot as well, which brings up a ton of issues. Which will win, Intellisense or Copilot? How are all those little user interface nuances resolved? Do you first get Copilot autosuggestions and if you don't take them, does it fall over to Intellisense? What about enabling or disabling Copilot?
This and more I go exploring while habits formed I am abhorring, for in many years from now hence, you may be damaged by Intellisense. Oh yeah, this stuff totally replaces Kite if you were on that.
