Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, our pelvic pain specialists provide a functional, rehab approach to pelvic pain. When you visit one of our offices, you spend an hour with your doctor reviewing in detail your medical history and symptoms. Then, we perform an internal exam (no speculum) to evaluate your nerves and muscles. Together, we'll discuss an individual treatment plan that gets to the root cause of your pain and helps you to feel better. The best part: you can begin treatment the same day!

At PRM, our mission is to decrease the time patients are suffering from pelvic pain symptoms.

I'm Dr. Rachel Haverland and I'm one of the endometriosis surgeons at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, located at the Dallas Texas location.

So I finished undergraduate degree in Austin, University of Texas and then did a master's degree program in North Texas, focusing on medical sciences. After that, I went to medical school, Texas A&M University. When I was in training I realized that I was very passionate about women's health, I wanted to advocate for them, I wanted them to find avenues where they could find appropriate treatment and high quality care. And subsequently after residency, I did a fellowship in Mayo Clinic and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. When I was there in residency, I just found myself wanting more for them, realizing that I could treat them through surgery for endometriosis, for reproductive health. During this time, I found that I loved surgery. Surgery was my calling.

I was really drawn to work with Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine when I saw their outlook on women's health and pelvic pain, I realized that they did have a holistic approach. When I do surgery I want to do it once and I want to do it right. I look at everything. I look at the diaphragm, I look at the liver edge, I run the small intestine and I look at the appendix and I do all of this before I even look at the pelvis, whereas most endometriosis is. But I want to make sure that missing anything that could be contributing to infertility or some of their other pain symptoms. During surgery, I think that it's very important to know what you're looking for, to know the subtle endometriosis lesions, to know the lesions that aren't classical powder burn lesions. To have a surgeon that has experience in identifying these areas so that you have the optimal outcome.

I really feel like this work that I do is rewarding. I feel like I help patients. I feel like I can help make a difference, especially through Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, with our different avenues of treatment options. I really feel like we can improve a patient's quality of life, and that's why I keep doing it.
