Billions of WhatsApp users have warned that the risk to their bank accounts is increasing as the application prepares for a big change.
Thanks to new laws set by the European Union's Digital Markets Act (DMA), WhatsApp users should expect a new inbox option to arrive on their app in March.
One of these new laws means that tech apps such as Meta-owned WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are not allowed to be 'gatekeeper services'.
Spam and scams may be more common in third-party chats.
