Example
Design a resonant circuit to operate between a source resistance of 150 and a load resistance of 1000. The loaded Q must be equal to 20 at the resonant frequency of 50MHz.
This circuit lacks flexibility because the circuit bandwidth and Qt are fixed once the value of Rt is specified.
In order to gain an extra degree of freedom so that the bandwidth and impedance ratio can be chosen independently, one extra circuit element is required.
One way to do this is to divide either the inductor or capacitor into two series components with the low-resistance load across one of them. This type of circuit is called tapped circuits.
Tapped circuits are often used in oscillators and narrow-band high-frequency amplifiers.
Rt= 8100, R2= 100, f0 = 1.5MHz and BW= 100kHz
