Cassio La Greca, a young man from Brazil, moves to the United States at the age of 18 with dreams of becoming a Hollywood movie star. However, his aspirations take a detour as he finds himself working full-time as a restaurant server. Now 38, Cassio has spent two decades in the service industry, with only a few minor acting gigs to his name. His agent has become unresponsive, and his life takes a downward turn when his girlfriend leaves him, plunging him into a deep state of sadness.
In an effort to lift his spirits, Cassio's friend Mitch Tello steps in to help. Mitch encourages Cassio to re-engage with life, and during their first outing, they encounter Grace Jackson, a vibrant and free-spirited woman who brings a new energy into Cassio's life. Mitch playfully arranges a dinner date for Cassio and Grace, which initially seems destined to fail. However, a shared caipirinha drink ignites a connection between them.
