Sylvester Ritter, better known as The Junkyard Dog, enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame in professional wrestling. While working in Mid South, JYD was able to sell out multiple venues across the territory, including the huge New Orleans superdome. People clamored to buy a ticket to see the Junkyard Dog compete with the likes of The Freedbirds, Ted Dibiase and King Kong Bundy.

JYD had an incredible amount of radiating charisma, appealing to all walks of life. His excellent work in Mid South caught the eye of the WWF, and Junkyard Dog was able to make good money with Vince McMahon in New York. JYD would go on to become one of the most popular and beloved wrestlers during the mid 80s in the WWE.
