Learning English can be tough. One reason is that we use many collocations and phrasal verbs. The difficulty is understanding the difference between these two types of expression.
A standard collocation uses a verb + a preposition. A phrasal verb uses a verb + what looks like a preposition but is actually a particle. In the collocation, both words keep their meaning, while a phrasal verb becomes idiomatic and can have a completely different meaning than the two elements in it.
In this video we look at the different combination of SPEAK + a preposition/particle.
