Keeper maintains the most security certifications in the industry and is committed to continually evolving our security methods in order to protect your data. As a result, we’ve upgraded our account recovery system to the Recovery Phrase method. A Recovery Phrase is a simple, auto-generated set of 24-words that can be used to restore access to your Keeper Vault in the event you forget your Master Password.

Following this update, you will receive a popup notification when you login to Keeper to activate the account recovery method. Click Generate Recovery Phrase to begin. By selecting Later, you will be prompted once a month until you update your account recovery method.

Once your Recovery Phrase has been generated, be sure to store it in a safe place. For added convenience, you will be given the option to copy or download it. Check the box to acknowledge you’ve stored it in a safe place and click Set Recovery Phrase to complete the setup.

Please note that if you forget your master password and lose your Recovery Phrase, you will not be able to login to your vault and Keeper Support will be unable to help you regain access.

You can verify your Recovery Phrase or generate a new one by clicking on your account email in the upper-right corner of your screen and selecting Settings and Recovery Phrase.

For Enterprise customers, Admins can control the use of account recovery from the “Account Settings” section of your role enforcement policy settings.
