My Animation Channel:    / theapoke

In this video, I share my journey as an animator and address some common comments I receive, like "you inspired me to become an animator" or "you inspire me to make my own animations." It's incredibly rewarding to see more people getting into this art form and creating amazing content. However, it's important to understand that there are challenges in this field. Before considering art school, download a free trial of animation software like Toon Boom Harmony or Adobe Animate to see if you enjoy animating. Watching cartoons is one thing, but creating them is a whole different experience, often involving strict clients and tight deadlines. Animation is typically contract-based and not a stable job. Unlike movies where success or failure is absolute, real life fluctuates. Some years you might feel on top of the world, while others you struggle to find work. The reality of achieving your dream job is that eventually, you wake up. Living in expensive cities is often necessary, and while being an artist provides "artistic fulfillment," it doesn't pay the bills. You need to find ways to monetize your art or consider alternative careers. Losing a job changes how people perceive you. At family gatherings or on dates, it's tough to constantly explain that you're looking for work.
