The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) are a new set of standards designed to ensure consistent K–12 science education with an emphasis on engineering and technology. In this REL Mid-Atlantic Teacher Effectiveness webinar, participants explored how these new standards provide an instructional framework to support professional growth and inform teacher evaluation systems for science instruction.
This webinar featured Chris Wilson and Jody Bintz, science educators at BSCS (Biological Sciences Curriculum Study). Dr. Wilson’s research focuses on measuring the effectiveness of educational interventions in science. Ms. Bintz works primarily in the areas of leadership development and teacher professional development.
