The Sony A6000 16-50mm kit lens is a great lens to start your photography journey. But there comes a time when you may need to upgrade to a higher quality lens. The trick is - how do you know that you're ready for an upgrade?

Here are some signs that you may want to upgrade from the 16-50mm lens:

1) Your photos aren't as sharp as you want them to be
2) You need a wider aperture (especially for low light photos or bokeh)
3) You need something wider or longer in focal length

These are all excellent reasons to upgrade your kit lens to something else in Sony's lineup.

There are also some reasons that you should NOT upgrade to a different lens:

1) You're already satisfied with the pictures you're getting with the kit lens
2) You don't have the money to upgrade
3) Someone on the internet told you that you should upgrade
