Plain heel aka "Insta-thought" heel // Technique Tuesday
This video demonstrates the "Insta-thought" peasant heel, also known as the "plain heel." This technique produces the same result as an "afterthought" peasant heel, but is knit immediately following the leg of a cuff down sock or the foot of a toe up sock, rather than being worked later.

Step 1: Knit across back of leg/sole sts: 0:52
Step 2: Instep/front of leg on waste yarn 1:29
Step 3: Provisionally CO second half of heel: 1:52
Step 4: Knit one round 4:05
Step 5: Shape heel with decreases: 4:54
Step 6: Graft heel 8:20
Recapturing sts to knit foot/leg: 10:22
Minimizing holes at the corners: 13:07
