The use of sensing technologies (e.g., location-tracking and voice-recognition tools) can help us reach a better understanding of young children’s experiences and development in preschool. With sensing technologies, we can examine experiences that vary vastly from child-to-child, such as a child’s interaction partners and level of exposure to verbal interactions. The panel will focus on the on-going efforts of researchers from three universities to harness these developing technologies for research in naturalistic preschool settings.
