Solo Safe or Solo Defeat
There are times when you're mixing a song when you want to hear a track and all of the effects on it in isolation, if only to be sure you're not overdoing it. If the effects are on channel inserts, soloing the track won't give you any problem, but what if the effects are on sends? You don't want to be constantly unmuting a bunch of effects channels, but there is a way to stop them being muted in the first place. In this video, I look at how to set your effects channels to Solo Defeat, or Solo Safe, as it's sometimes called.
