Myesha Banks of PRM in Dallas shares some of the most telling signs and symptoms that may point to having endometriosis.

At Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine™, we believe that the millions of women and men who suffer from pelvic pain should have access to care that provides relief. We don’t believe “a glass of wine will fix it” or that “it’s all in your head”. We will never abandon you – and from leadership to the front office to every pelvic pain specialist you meet, so much of our team has been in your shoes and believes the pelvic pain patient deserves better. This belief is what unifies us all at PRM.

Since 2017, PRM has provided an innovative solution to a health crisis that affects 15% of women and 10% of men. Persistent pelvic pain is often overlooked, untreated, and misguided. At PRM, our mission is to decrease the time patients are suffering from pelvic pain symptoms.

We offer a proprietary, simple, office-based procedure to treat the symptoms of chronic pelvic pain. The PRM Protocol™ consists of a series of pelvic nerve and muscle treatments to directly target inflammation in the pelvis and nerve pain. Depending on the condition causing your pelvic pain, other modalities may be needed in addition to our treatment.

Hi everyone and happy Endo Awareness Month. I'm Myesha Banks, a nurse practitioner with Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. I wanted to share with you some of the most telling signs and symptoms of endometriosis, starting with menstrual pain. Menstrual pain that is not well relieved by Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Midol, may be a sign or symptom of endometriosis.

Also, if your menstrual pain is requiring that you are missing out. If you're not attending social functions, if you're calling off of work or missing classes, that could also be a sign that this type of pain is severe enough to consider that endometriosis could be an issue. If your menstrual pain extends down into the legs and thighs, this is also a very common sign or symptom of endometriosis.

If you have painful sex, if you notice that during or after intercourse you feel crampy, bloated, uncomfortable, require a heating pad, then we might need to consider that endometriosis is concern. If in fact you're also dealing with gastrointestinal upset. And so by that I mean, you feel nauseous, you may vomit or feel faint, you may not be able to tolerate certain foods, or you have severe bowel changes with your menses.

You are all of a sudden constipated when you're not normally. Or the opposite may be true. Perhaps you're someone who is pretty regular, but when it's time for your period, you're finding yourself having more loose, more frequent stools, accompanied by cramping and bloating. This is also another common sign of endometriosis.

Hope this is helpful and please reach out to a healthcare provider if you feel that you are dealing with any of those symptoms, take care.
