Inside England's Happiest Town 🏴
Today we're in Clitheroe, Lancashire. England's greatest market town!
First things first we headed up to Clitheroe castle for a view over the beautiful Lancashire countrysides, you just can't beat England's natural beauty.
We then headed into town for some breakfast at a classic cafe, we had pie peas and gravy as well as some tea and a scone. All served with northern English warmth.
After filling up we nipped into the church market to support the community, then went to an old English sweet shop to buy some childhood classics.
Across the road was Cowmans famous sausage shop so off we went to get some of England's very best sausages. We then visited the towns wine shop which was pretty impressive I've gotta say.
Now Clitheroe is a traditional market town so we then went to check it out, for a midweek it was fairly busy! We got ourselves some fruit, pet treats and just soaked up the English market scenes.
We then visited the biggest church in Clitheroe before going for a drink in the New Inn, an old school pub full of characters and great drinks. You can't beat English banter.
Wandering round Clitheroe you notice most shops are small businesses, something you rarely see in the UK nowadays. Big respect to Clitheroe for that.
We we're hungry again so nipped into castle chippy for some chips and curry sauce as well as a dirty battered mars bar, one of my favourite things.
Lancashire is gorgeous.
We bloody love Clitheroe, this is proper England 🏴
