Welcome back to the second week of Blues at the Arch, presented by Emerson. This week's featured artist is blues sensation, Jontavious Willis who grew up singing gospel music with his grandfather at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Greenville, Georgia. At 14, he came across a YouTube video of Muddy Waters and knew he would become a blues musician. Over the next four years, Jontavious studied several types of blues music and learned to play the guitar, harmonica, banjo, and cigar box. It wasn't long after that he took the world by storm, performing on the Taj Mahal's stage for all to enjoy.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sweet sound of the Blues. Join us every Friday in August at 6 p.m. for Blues at the Arch performances from artists like Toronzo Cannon and The Chicago Way and Mz. Sha.
Presented by Emerson, Blues at the Arch is produced by Gateway Arch Park Foundation in partnership with the National Blues Museum and Gateway Arch National Park. To RSVP and for more information about this event, please visit: https://www.archpark.org/bluesatthearch
