The story also touches on the culinary experiences he had in Lapland, including traditional Finnish dishes like salmon, meatballs, and Mammi rye pudding. He describes the solitude and silence of Lapland, occasional encounters with local wildlife, and his attempt to see the northern lights, even though he visited during a time when the nights were short.
Overall, the story captures his unique journey of volunteering in a remote part of Finland, his interactions with the locals, and his experiences living and working in Lapland.
