A short clip of Philip Dodd receiving and responding to the presentation of the Honorary Degree (Doctor of Letters) from the University of Leicester.
Philip Dodd has achieved many things since working as a lecturer in our School of English. He is an award-winning broadcaster and editor, an expert in the field of culture and creative industries and even credited with helping to develop Tony Blair's 'Cool Britannia' ethos.
During the 1980s, he joined the BBC's Music and Arts department. While working there, he helped found the BBC's Late Show, before leaving to become deputy editor of the New Statesman. He became editor of Sight and Sound magazine in 1990.
He went on to become director of the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, and in 2004 established Made in China, an agency developing cultural, educational business relationships between the UK and China.
