International Women’s Day in Gaza
“In Palestine, we do not have Women’s Day.”
Iman Zakout, a displaced Palestinan now living in a tent in Gaza, shared her thoughts on the plight of Palestinian women ahead of International Women’s Day.
Since Israel launched its war on Gaza, women in the besieged enclave have faced extreme challenges while ensuring the survival of their families amid severe shortages of basic life necessities.
At least 9,000 women have been killed by Israel since October 7, including an estimated 37 mothers each day, according to UN Women.
