2. Add a channel trailer video. We recommend choosing the video on your channel that has gained the most subscribers. You can find this in your YouTube analytics.

3. Organize your channel with playlists so viewers can quickly understand the type of content they will find on your channel

4. Add links to your channel. Before viewers decide to subscribe to your channel they may want to know more about you. If you add links to your website and social media, they can quickly learn more about you to decide to subscribe to your future content.

5. Write your channel description. Another way to quickly summarize your channel. This shows up in search results and in the about tab of your channel helping people learn more about you and your channel. Also, make a pitch on why they should subscribe at the end of your channel description.

6. Add a watermark to your channel / videos. A watermark will show up in the bottom right-hand corner of all of your videos. This is a subtle reminder throughout all of your videos to subscribe to your channel.

7. Upload 3 videos to your channel in the first week. This all early viewers multiple videos to watch helping them decide if they want to subscribe to see future content.

8. Create videos that people are searching for. Do keyword research and follow YouTube SEO best practices (see video above) to create videos that show up in search results.

9. Create content in a narrow niche initially. Create focused content initially so people will watch multiple related videos and then decide to subscribe to your YouTube channel.

10. Create custom thumbnails for your videos. YouTube thumbnails are probably the most important thing to focus on besides your video content. Good thumbnails will get more people to click on and watch your videos. The more views you get the more subscribers you will also get.
