Boeing has unveiled the Apache Modern concept featuring two additional hardpoints under its stub wing to accommodate air launch effects (ALE) and directed energy weapons. Multipurpose ALE can be used to interfere with enemy radar signals, increasing the aircraft's survivability in contested airspace. It can also be used for roaming ammunition to attack ground formations or serve as decoy to penetrate enemy air defenses.
