In this tutorial video Philip Handschin, technical consultant at MediaTek Labs, takes you through the steps involved in installing the LinkIt Connect 7681 SDK and its Andes tools to your Ubuntu (Linux) computer. After the easy installation process, he walks you through an example of how to build your own firmware that uses GPIO on a LinkIt Connect 7681 development board and how to flash the firmware to the board. This gives you a great starting point from which to create your own IoT device prototype with the board’s Wi-Fi connectivity, the TCP/IP stack and the peripheral communication through GPIO or UART.
