The INSANE final chapter of Resident Evil 4 VR Quest 2 // The BEST Quest 2 game of 2021 (for me)
Mission complete, the Resident Evil 4 VR ending is here, I battled through like a madman to get these videos recorded, edited and uploaded this soon after launch and I wouldn't change it for the world, Resident Evil 4 VR is official my favourite Quest 2 game this year. Thank you to Oculus for the Resident Evil 4 VR key. I went into Resident Evil 4 VR expecting it to possibly be the best Quest 2 game I'd played so far and it easily met that high expectation. It isn't perfect (the missing Mercenaries mode & an over reliance on cutscenes that pull you out of the action stop this from truly achieving greatness) but it's quite comfortably the best long form experience I've had with my Quest 2 since playing through Saints & Sinners (what's with all these "zombie" games being so good?). If you're looking for the definitive way to experience Resident Evil 4 then the Quest 2 gameplay is an incredible & immersive way to do so.
The Resident Evil 4 VR Quest 2 release has been the first game this year that has truly kept me glued into my Quest 2, I've been fascinated, filled with childlike glee & genuinely awestruck at being able to walk around these environments & live inside this game that I know & love so much. Resident Evil 4 VR might be a strange experience for those who never played the original, or even for those more acustomed to tradtional VR experience, because in many ways RE4 VR feels like a hyrbid, a perfect blend of wonderful VR action/exploration & traditional flatscreen cinematic cutscenes.
