HI,
I am Victoria, photographer at Lifetime Stories Photography and owner of the wraps shop Queen of wraps and fabrics in Australia.
This is my signature wrapping process to achieve the potato pose.
By doing these 3 ways wrapping techniques I am able to get a really good posing workflow with minimum movement for the baby and with loads of images from the session.
This was a real session and by using this wrapping process your baby will be calm and sleepy in a very short time:).
As you will see I am starting with my so called " round round and about wrap" or the "@wrap", making sure the baby's fingers are placed finger over finger and under his chin.
Once you get this wrap you can cover the baby's legs so you prepare the baby's body for the second wrap.
The second wrap used I call it the "criss-cross wrap" or "x Wrap" and you just need to make a criss cross or x figure over the baby's chest. In here I dropped the x layers each time so I got a layered X wrap. Drop them at about 2 cm underneath the first layer.
The third wrap, and my last one called the "infinity wrap" or "& wrap) is used as decor piece and I always use my extra long cheesecloth wraps from https://queenofwrapsandfabrics.bigcar...
Once you have done all 3 wraps you can start to pose the baby as followed.
1. baby wrapped with the infinity wrap technique and posed on the flokati rug in the "potato pose"
2. baby wrapped in the criss-cross wrap and posed in a prop
3. baby wrapped in the round round and about wrap and posed on the bean bag or in a prop.
So, in short you wrap with wrap 1,2 and 3 but you starting your workflow by posing the baby with the wraps 3, 2 and 1 then you can go to naked shoots.
