Andrew Wasson of Creative Guitar Studio answers a viewers question...
Q: I have very limited time to practice guitar. Even though this is the case, I still want to play and study to improve. I was curious if you might be able to outline a compressed practice approach that I could apply? Something short, but focused, that can help me improve. I can only find around four hours each week for good practicing. Is there an approach I can use that combines technical work with academic study?

A: The main idea is to set your schedule with a series of topics that are laid out in an order that flows from; warm-ups, out to different academic topics, like; scales, arpeggios, chords and rhythm guitar leading into creative topics that can range from composing riffs, that might become future song ideas, (or if you're not feeling like the creative juices are flowing), you can always tackle transcribing, or just learning a new song from a chart. And so, if you're really pressed for time and you need to change the way you're currently using your time, "Speed Practicing," might just wind-up being the perfect study system for you!
