Sharing exciting animal news, pitching in with odd jobs, or helping our visitors find their way - our 200+ part-time volunteers make the Zoo a truly wonderful place to be!
In our latest episode focusing on Auckland Zoo’s centenary year, volunteer manager Jill and senior volunteer coordinator Fiona reflect on 30+ years of our volunteer programme and how it has evolved over this time.
Jill explains, “What makes Auckland volunteers special is their dedication and commitment. They do give a lot of their time and a lot of their energy to promoting what we do here at the Zoo. A wonderful, cheerful, friendly, cake-sharing group of people and it’s those special relationships that I think really makes the volunteers here super-stars really.”
