I’ll also go over my methodology while reviewing VPNs, explaining my speed and security tests and further research into subscription options, customer support, apps, and more. When looking at a VPN, you want it to be two main things- fast and secure. That’s why I perform speed and security tests on both a Macbook Air and a Windows Vivobook. I check each VPN for its effect on a web browser’s download speed, upload speed, and ping, otherwise known as latency. I also perform DNS and WebRTC leak tests to make sure that my web traffic isn’t being leaked outside of the encrypted tunnel.
