Is this the end of Stack Overflow?
Web traffic to Stack Overflow has declined over 35% in recent months. There is the influence of AI tools like GitHub's CoPilot and OpenAI's ChatGPT, which were launched in 2022 and provide immediate coding assistance. This shift in coding help dynamics seems to be impacting StackOverflow's popularity, given the platform's data was ironically used to train these AIs.
While AI tools are rapidly evolving, human intervention is still crucial for solving new coding issues. Finally, I'll introduce you to a free GitHub's CoPilot alternative from AWS, called Code Whisperer.
