UC San Diego scientist creates biodegradable algae shoes
It’s estimated that hundreds of millions of shoes are tossed out every year around the world, with each pair alone taking decades to decompose, posing a major hazard to the environment. Taking a big step to change that, one scientist is turning to an underwater organism — one of the oldest forms of life for solutions. CGTN’s Frances Kuo reports.
