Unlock the Power of Words: Celebrating the Freedom to Read during Banned Books Week
This webinar was offered by the David C. Anchin Center for the Advancement of Teaching in partnership with the USF Literacy Studies program. This webinar explored the critical issues of the freedom to read, censorship dangers, and the pivotal role of educators in nurturing a love for books. Moderated by USF’s Dr. Lindsay Persohn and Dr. Janet Outlaw, participants discussed how teachers can continue to teach diverse books and celebrate diverse voices in classrooms. The panel was also joined by Dr. Tiffany A. Flowers of Georgia State University and Dr. Angela Wiseman of NC State University.
