Lore: Maii was summoned accidentally by a novice conjurer. Conjurer was dumbfounded and when he attempted to command Maii she grabbed him and shoved him into her mouth. Maii busted out of the conjurer's fortress and proceeded to go away and eat people in Skyrim. Devouring creatures seems to make her more powerful.
