This is the ADR definition in Wikipedia: "Automated Dialog Replacement (ADR) is the process of re-recording dialogue by the original actor after the filming process to improve audio quality or reflect dialogue changes (also known as "looping" or a "looping session")"
ADR is a very handy tool when recording voice overs or dialogues. It allows you to re-record the dialogues of you movie or clip in the studio, so that you produce more qualitative voice or sound.
