2023 Avery Fisher Career Grants Announcement Ceremony
Join us LIVE from The Greene Space for the 2023 Avery Fisher Career Grants announcement ceremony hosted by WQXR's Elliott Forrest. Performances by this year's recipients follow the announcement. Since the first Career Grants were awarded in 1976, there have been 171 Career Grant recipients. Past awardees include pianist Yuja Wang, violinist Gil Shaham, and clarinetist Anthony McGill. WQXR has been a broadcast partner since the first Career Grants were awarded, a relationship spanning forty-seven years.
Avery Fisher Career Grants are designed to give professional assistance and recognition to talented instrumentalists and chamber ensembles who the Recommendation Board and Executive Committee of the Avery Fisher Artist Program believe to have great potential for major careers in classical music.
