Here’s what to keep in mind while filing Part A of the new registration application
On the landing page, which radio button should you select?
• Select the New Registration Application to begin applying for GST registration
• Select Temporary Reference Number if you have already filled Part A of the Registration Application and have a valid TRN
What is TRN?
• Temporary Reference Number (TRN) is a unique 15-digit reference number.
• It is generated when you successfully submit all the fields of PART A (first page) of the new registration application.
Note:
• In case you lose your TRN sent to you via SMS and e-mail, you will have to fill in all the details in PART A of the Registration Application again.
1) How to view your existing registrations mapped to the same PAN of the business/ entity on the GST Portal while applying for registration?
GST Portal displays all the GSTINs mapped to the same PAN across India when you click on Proceed button after filling in all the details in Part A of the application
2) I am applying for new registration. Which state should I select?
Select the state in which you are applying for the registration
3) I am a Non-Resident Taxable Person; do I need a PAN for registration?
No, you need any 1 of the following three:
• PAN of the Non-Resident Taxable Person OR
• Passport Number of the Non-Resident Taxable Person OR
• Tax Identification Number (TIN) or unique number based on which the entity is identified by the Government of that country
