New Eden is an animated web series created by Brett Snelgrove (writer/producer) and Freek van Haagen (director/lead animator).
I was brought in to animate on several episodes for the first series commissioned by ChannelFlip for Youtube channel 'Huha'.
In all I worked on 5 episodes, ranging from a 90sec character introduction to full length 4-5min episodes. The illustrations and storyboards were provided by Freek and I was tasked to animate the characters and backgrounds using a mix of 2D, 3D and IK Puppet techniques in Adobe After Effects.
During preproduction, I worked closely with Freek and Brett as we discussed various ways to tackle issues regarding the rigging of the multiple characters and creatures sharing screen time and the movements and interactions required for story development.
