Today we have to talk about the upcoming Brics Summit, because this might just be the start of a historic economic shift. Over the past few months China has been dropping clues that things won’t be the same. Back when President XI met with Putin in Moscow he gave the world a chilling warning and i quote, “Right now there are changes the likes of which we haven’t seen for 100 years and we are the ones driving these changes together”
South Africa is expected to host the Brics summit in August 2023. However, the opportunity has morphed into an international challenge because Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, who has been indicted by the International Criminal Court, has indicated that he will indeed attend.
South Africa could face extreme anger of its Brics partners if it fulfills its international obligation and arrests him. On the other hand, if it does not arrest him, it could face sanctions from those countries that want to see Putin tried for war crimes.
The world order is Shifting and Bricks is looking to build an economic power house to challenge the Western powers. What we are seeing is history in the making, it is as important as the fall of the Berlin wall or the creation of the bretton wood system.
In a few months time in August 2023 we could see the group that contributes 31.5% of global GDP versus G7 30% get even stronger.
I wanted to take a look at this picture. This is a gathering of the brics foreign ministers in Cape Town, South Africa and in the front row we have the Ministers of China, Brazil, South Africa, India and Russia all siting down. Now focus on the standing row behind, these are the countries that are looking to join the brics block. Among them We have Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia all standing together, now these are massive oil Giants as we know, these are three of the 19 countries looking to join the block.
It is signaling the start of a new era.
