Despite Being Highly outnumbered and having somewhat limited authority with respect to corporate sovereignty, the modern forces of law and order should not be crossed.
In addition to being overworked, brutal and often corrupt to their very bones, local law encores now share their duties with privately funded paramilitary organizations. The corporate Agents, or just corpo cops as they are also known.
Naturally, those guys won’t bite the hand that feeds them so saying they are biased is an understatement.
Properties under corporate authority, including buildings, blocks and districts are completely within their corporations respective jurisdictions. Most of the smaller companies hire services provided by leading specialized agencies such as Militech, Arasaka, or Lazarus for external security needs.
Militech and Arasaka don’t need introductions, the hiring of them by opposite forces led to the well known 4th corporate war. For more on that, make sure to check my playlist about the timeline of cyberpunk 2077, linked on the description.
Even though lazarus stayed under the radar of the past few decades it is not a force to be messed with. We still don’t know for sure their presence in 2077 other than a brief mention of them in the World of cyberpunk 2077 lore book.
The Lazarus Group is, in short, a versatile mercenary force, providing soldiers and special agents for hire to people or organizations that do not have the resources, need, or time to recruit and maintain a full time armed force of their own. The variety of military services offered by the Lazarus Group are considerable. Force sizes range from single, specialized solos and small special-operations teams to entire infantry divisions.
The corporate forces deal with every crime committed on corporate turf, regardless of the perpetrator. The corp cops justice is harsh and quick. They don’t have a problem with shooting first and asking questions later. If they ask at all. They are Police, Judge and Executor at the same time.
