Introduction to the Cache - Apps Script | CacheService ~ Episode 17.0
Hey Coders! Is your application running slow? Are too many requests for data clobbering your database? Have you added a cache to your application? A cache is a system design component that can decrease request latency, alleviate strain on database queries, and enhance the overall efficiency of your app. Basically, the cache acts as a small key-value database that sits closer to the user and holds the most frequently accessed data. That way, if your app's users need that data, they can just get it from the cache rather than the database, which takes a LOT longer! In this video, we'll be introducing the concept of the cache conceptually before diving into more practical use cases in later episodes.
