garden•uprooted is a music and dance-theatre performance that contrasts the idea of garden as a sanctuary with the upheaval of diaspora in modern times. The performance features the works of acclaimed Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu (1930 -1996), whose music took great inspiration from nature and the traditional Japanese garden.
garden•uprooted is helmed by Cultural Medallion recipients Maestro Lim Yau and Choreographer Angela Liong, supported by an inter-generational cast comprising senior citizens with dance students performing alongside professional dancers from Arts Fission and musicians from The Philharmonic Orchestra.
