How to Replace a Data Source in Tableau
Changing a data source in Tableau can enhance the functionality of your workbook.
Replacing a data source will automatically update all worksheets, dashboards, and stories that used the original data source to use the new one.
It will also redirect fields used in the worksheet to map to corresponding fields in the new data source, and copy any fields created in the original data source to the new one. This can only be done when both data sources are relational or cube (multidimensional) data sources.
