Mojang messed up big time! Mojang has recently added spectator mode to Minecraft Bedrock Edition for preview. However, this has to be a mistake. Mostly since a Minecraft developer mentioned that spectator mode would release with Hardcore mode, which is currently not out yet. Also, it doesn't make sense to release it, without letting anyone know that it was coming. It doesn't seem right to not mention Spectator mode in the changelogs. So this has to be a mistake on Mojang's end. Also, one other thing that doesn't add up, is why would they release it, in the state that it's in. It's very buggy, and not ready for release. Also, in the game modes option, it doesn't show spectator mode, you have to type in the command to access it. So this is why I think that it could be a mistake, and why it probably won't stay. Kind of like how they accidentally released prototype code for RTX for the Xbox series S / X. So this is my reason why it probably won't stay.
Note: It doesn't mean that it's not impossible. On the other hand, I've heard that it's a test, and could be in preview to test out an alternative version of Spectator, which could be used for feedback, to improve on how it works.
I do believe that Spectator mode could release in 1.19 officially, mostly since in Minecraft Live 2021 a developer showed gameplay footage of Spectator mode in Bedrock Edition. How do we know? Minecraft Bedrock Edition is the only Minecraft version to have a paper doll.
Do I think it could be better than Javas spectator mode? Absolutely not, mostly sense Javas has been out for years and longer than Bedrocks.
So anyways, hopefully you do enjoy the video, make sure to comment on what you think happened, and why they released Spectator mode!
