The Simpsons UK Censorship - S20E04 "Treehouse of Horror XIX"
Channel 4 broadcasts The Simpsons here in the UK. They seem very keen on making the show as family friendly as possible, so they often make multiple edits to episodes before they air them. Here are all the cuts Channel 4 made to The Simpsons episode "Treehouse of Horror XIX". The original is played first followed by the Channel 4 version. This video uses the version aired 15th April, 2020 at 6:00pm.
This episode has been repeated in a late-night slot (most recently 22nd November 2020 at 1:30am) with absolutely no cuts at all, though all daytime airings (e.g. the daily 6:00pm slot) are still cut in the fashion shown in this video. Some of these edits are real headscratchers. Were Channel 4 genuinely concerned about offending pumpkins? This is almost certainly the most edits Channel 4 have ever made to a single episode. I can see the logic behind removing imitable actions like the bag suffocation scenes in S20E01 but this episode takes it way too far with the cuts.
