I recently got my hands on a Panasonic 12-32mm F3.5-5.6 kit lens, and I thought it would be interesting to compare it against the Olympus 14-42mm F3.5-5.6. Both are very similar - having slim pancake design, budget kit lens that comes with budget entry level camera bodies, and offers versatile zoom range and good perforamance for the compact size. However, Panasonic offers 12mm wider coverage and built in lens stabilization, and Olympus offers manual focusing ring, better close up, metal lens mount (vs plastic on Panasonic) and I generally find Olympus to perform a little better, optically. I tested all this on Olympus camera body of course.
