His name was Tom. He was found in the field next to my house among 2 other kittens. It was assumed that Tom and his siblings were dumped here. It's sadly quite common for animals to get dumped near us. We took them in and gave his siblings a new home. Tom didn't get adobted because he had an eye infection. So we took him in, cleaned up his eyes, and he became our new pet. At the time, we already had 2 pets. Blue (a white cat with blue eyes), and Daisy (a Chihuahua). Blue would be Toms older brother, but one day Blue went missing. We figured he was just a little lost and would come back one day.... He never came back. So it was just Tom Tom and Daisy. Tom missed rubbing up against Blue, but with Blue gone, Daisy was Tom's new Cuddle buddy. Daisy would get annoyed, but over time she let him show her affection. Tom was also the step dad to the neighbors kittens. Mama cat knew who the dad was. but she didn't care. The dad was a deadbeat anyways. She liked Tom the most. Tom would get nervious around her sometimes. I think he liked her too... Sometimes when Tom wanted to be let outside, he would specifically come to my door and meow. I guess I was the only one that ever responded to when he wanted out, and it just became a habit. Whenever I would take Daisy out, I would find him nestled under our big tree. A bunch of leaves had become his bed. He had spent so much time sleeping in that spot that there is a perfect indent of him there....
On November 15th he was found in that same spot under the tree.... Only this time he wouldn't wake up.... Sleep well Tom Tom. We'll miss you.
