How to Create Dark Trap Vocals | Trap Production Basics in Cubase
Cameron (aka Venus Theory) demonstrates how to improve your Trap production by creating ambient, crunchy vocal lines in Cubase 11. Starting with the vocal sample, basic manipulation begins with drag and drop into Groove Agent. Here Cameron takes slices of the samples and uses pitch correct to take the formants shifting down for a darker sound, then vocal tuning and adding drive and distortion in the Cubase amp rack. This is followed by using the ambient chords preset in the multitap delay plug-in to add dimension to the samples. Next the Roomworks SE reverb adds some smoothness to the sounds and the tube compressor is used for greater control. You can create some really interesting and experimental sounds in Steinberg Cubase by taking the time to try the audio processing possibilities, which is both enjoyable and inspiring for your creative music production.
