In Google Sheets, create a hyperlink to content in different spreadsheets, using the Insert Link menu or HYPERLINK function. This tutorial gives the steps to create hyperlinks using Insert Link. The steps to link content in different spreadsheets are illustrated through a project.
You can link text, which is typically a word or phrase, for example, to content in a different spreadsheet, in the same sheet, content in different sheets within the same spreadsheet, or to a website.

The Project
The project objectives:
1. Hyperlink to 3 financial statements in different spreadsheets
2. Place text with hyperlinks on all sheets to aid easy navigation
Create the three financial statements in separate spreadsheets.
The word/phrase to link to its respective content is Balance Sheet, P&L, and
Cash Flow.
Each spreadsheet will have the above text, with hyperlinks, to facilitate
easy navigation from one sheet to another.
Create the Hyperlinks
Type the words/phrases, in which you want to embed a hyperlink, one
each in a word/phrase, in any spreadsheet.
Click the first text and then click Insert Link. Select the desired spreadsheet. If it's not displayed, search for it by typing the first few characters of the spreadsheet name. Click on an empty cell to deselect. Repeat the steps for the other text.
Copy all the hypertext and paste it in the other two spreadsheets.
Test the Hyperlinks
Hover the cursor over a hyperlink. Click the spreadsheet name. Repeat
the steps for all the links.
Edit Hyperlink
Hover the cursor over the hyperlink you wish to edit. Click Edit link. Make the changes.
Remove Hyperlink
Click the hypertext, the link in which you want to remove. Click Remove link.
