Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has made his second major speech in two days to mark the Shi'ite festival of Achoura.

He said it was "illogical" for the Lebanese government to demand
he quit Syria as a condition for joining a coalition, and spoke about his military intervention on the side of Bashar al-Assad.

"As I have said many times before our fighters in Syria, our mujahideen, are there as part of our defence of Lebanon, the Palestinian cause, and Syria, the bastion of Palestinian resistance," he said.

Hezbollah fighters have proved invaluable for the Syrian regime and were widely credited with having been instrumental in handing the opposition its worst defeat in the loss of the city of Qusayr early this year.
