Creating Trauma-Sensitive Schools for all Students (REL Appalachia)
This session at the REL Appalachia Trauma Support for Schools Summit focused on the creation of safe and supportive trauma-sensitive schools for all students. Based on the attributes and values of a trauma-sensitive school and incorporating examples from various schools, Ristuccia described an inquiry-based process that will guide schools to develop locally tailored trauma-sensitive action plans to address their urgent priorities. Using this process, schools can identify and integrate the various programs and initiatives that will address their local needs.
