In One Click... we can reset all filters and slicers to default values in Power BI Service as well as to clear all filters in Power BI desktop using a button that we can set up using combination of filter and bookmark.
In my day to day life, I often witness PBI users playing around with filters and slicers… to gain more insights.
And then… they often asked, how do I clear all the filters.. .and get back to the original default view.
In this video, I'd like to introduce you to two buttons:
(1) RESET BUTTON that you can find in Power BI service
(2) CLEAR ALL FILTERS BUTTON that we can create in Power BI desktop
The Reset Button is my personal favorite.
Simply because it is readily available, nothing to do, just use it... so so super useful.
Do you ever notice that the reset button is sometimes grey and sometimes yellow.
Do you know what's the difference?
Believe it or not, in my early days, I didn't know that such button exist in Power BI Service, as I primarily play around with Power BI Desktop, and sadly, the reset button is not available in Power BI Desktop.
So what's the work around?
You can create a custom made, clear all filter button in Power BI desktop and I will show you how to create one, step by step in this video, utilizing bookmark & buttons
Once you have familiarized yourself with both types of buttons, let me know which one is your personal favorite :)
